ABSTRACT

The topic discussed in this research was the reduction of pathologies in concrete elements (beams and columns) in a housing project in the city of Quito, through a quality management model, for this purpose, a quantitative methodology was used because the sample size could be determined and its research design was experimental, because the cause-effect relationship between two or more variables or phenomena is explained with a subcategory of action research, with a transversal research section. This research was developed in the private housing construction project “Los Arupos” located in the parish of Calderón, Carapungo sector, located north of the city of Quito DM, capital of Ecuador-South America. As a general conclusion, based on the results obtained from the study of the 19 houses, which aimed to verify a reduction in pathologies in concrete elements (beams and columns) through a quality management model, it can be stated that with adequate standardized control in the manufacturing and construction of concrete elements that enforces technical standards, there will be a reduction in the occurrence of pathologies in hardened concrete.
