      <title>ABSTRACT</title>
      <p>Sustainable construction strategies in educational institutions in Ecuador are increasingly recognized as essential to promote environmental stewardship and improve educational environments.  This study explores the implementation and benefits of sustainable building practices in Ecuadorian schools and universities.  By examining case studies and current practices, the research highlights the strategies and technologies currently available in the country context to contribute to reducing the ecological footprint, improving energy efficiency and promoting healthy spaces.  The research methodology employs a qualitative approach and does a content analysis of technical documentation of the projects and regulatory references.  Through coding and categorization, the major sustainability factors are identified, namely bioclimatic design and thermal comfort, water efficiency, and material selection.  According to the research findings, sustainable design methods help institutions reduce operational and environmental costs while enhancing the health and education of students.  The study further points out that there is a need in Ecuador for sustainable design standards for educational infrastructure as these standards generate a lasting social and environmental transformation.</p>
