Preface

The Third European and Mediterranean Structural Engineering and Construction Conference (EURO-MED-SEC-3) was organized by the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT). Owing to the interconnectedness of civil engineering fields, the theme of the conference was "Holistic Overview of Structural Design and Construction".

EURO-MED-SEC-3 focused on state-of-the-art research, as well as, on modern applications in the fields of structural engineering and construction management. The studies include various tracks used in infrastructure design and construction, such as air and water, architecture and architectural engineering, coastal engineering, construction management, construction process simulation, construction safety, cost and project management, education and professional ethics, facilities and asset management, geotechnical and foundation engineering, housing, infrastructure, law and dispute resolution, materials, procurement, quality, risk analysis and disaster management, structures, sustainability, tunneling, and others.

EURO-MED-SEC-3 engages academics, engineers, entrepreneurs, architects and other persons able to exchange ideas and knowledge to discuss recent technical advancements in the professions of structural engineering and construction. The conference proceedings have 83 manuscripts from 28 countries. The technical content of each manuscript is carefully reviewed by the editorial team, the external reviewers, and copy and format editors. The proceedings present research papers as well as representative studies from practitioners.

On behalf of the organizing committee, we wish to thank all authors who contributed to the proceedings and the conference, and the external reviewers who diligently reviewed and submitted their reviews in a timely manner. We thank ISEC for enabling this stimulating process. We thank the Cyprus University of Technology for providing the facilities and infrastructure to host the technical sessions, providing technical and logistic support.
