Invitation

Dear Civil Engineering and Construction Professionals, Colleagues, and Friends:

We invite you to participate in the Third Australasia and South East Asia Conference, ASEA-SEC-3, Oct 31 – Nov 4, 2016. The Conference, which will be held in the city of Kuching, is organized by Curtin University, Sarawak Malaysia and Universiti Malaysia Sarawak. Kuching is the state capital of Sarawak, East Malaysia, located on the historic island of Borneo.

The theme of ASEA-SEC-3 is "Integrated Solutions for Infrastructure Development". The reason for this is that Sarawak is abundant in natural resources and has a rapidly growing industrial base. Hence, it is necessary to plan for integrated solutions without repeating the mistakes of the developed countries.

The conference is offering you a platform to share knowledge and new innovations, and exchange ideas among industry professionals, academicians, and interested participants.

Kuching is known for its economic prosperity, uncompromising beauty, and blend of modern and old worlds. If you are a cat lover, you cannot miss the city of the world’s first cat museum. But if you are not a cat lover, there are many other things for you to discover in this unique side of Malaysia. For one, the island of Borneo where Sarawak is located is the only place in the world where orangutans still have a natural habitat. Next, Sarawak is a territory of numerous revisers such that hydroelectricity is abundant and electricity is among the cheapest in the world. As a result, many industries from East Asia and overseas are moving into Sarawak. And, it should not be forgotten that Sarawak symbolizes the history of “white Rajas”, and was fiercely fought over during World War II.

We are looking forward to your participation and will do our best to ensure a memorable experience for all delegates, guests, and attendees to the ASEA-SEC-3 conference.

Selamat Datang to Kuching!
