Welcome to EURO-MED-SEC-1

Welcome to the first European Mediterranean Conference 1 (EURO-MED-SEC-1) on Structural Engineering and Construction on May 24-29, 2016, in Istanbul and hosted by Yildiz Technical University. The conference theme is “Interaction between Theory and Practice in Civil Engineering and Construction”.

Encouraged by the success of the ongoing ISEC Conference series, the Conference aims to bring together current academic research and development studies and initiatives, and the industrial practices in all aspects of Structural Engineering and Construction. It will include one day of pre-conference reception, two days of concurrent technical sessions and a banquet, one day for technical tours, and two days of cultural tours.

Istanbul, located at the intersection of two continents, Europe and Asia, has been home to three empires, namely Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman. The almost 3,000 year old city, with its ancient name of Constantinople, is a cultural magnet of east and west civilizations and offers many tourism attractions that include the gorgeous Bosphorus, museums, historical monuments and buildings, grandeur mosques, as well as its famous bazar for shopping.
