Dear Colleagues,

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Eighth Australasia and South-East Asia Structural Engineering and Construction Conference (ASEA-SEC-8), to be held at Lincoln University in Christchurch, New Zealand from April 12-16, 2027.

This year's conference theme, "From Land to Infrastructure: Integrating Property, Construction, and Engineering," reflects the growing need for closer collaboration across disciplines that shape our built environment. As our communities face increasingly complex challenges, including urban growth, climate change, infrastructure resilience, housing affordability, and technological transformation, integrated approaches are essential for developing sustainable, resilient, and people-centred solutions.

ASEA-SEC-8 provides a unique forum for researchers, academics, industry professionals, policymakers, and practitioners to exchange ideas, present innovative research, and strengthen collaborations across the interconnected fields of property, construction, civil and structural engineering, infrastructure, land development, and asset management. By bringing together expertise from these complementary disciplines, we hope to foster meaningful dialogue that bridges traditional boundaries and inspires new approaches to the planning, delivery, and management of the built environment.

Lincoln University is proud to host this conference. With its long-standing strengths in land, property, environmental management, and sustainable development, the University provides an ideal setting for discussions that connect the entire lifecycle of the built environment, from land and planning through to construction, infrastructure, and long-term asset stewardship.
